As a photojournalist covering the pandemic in Toronto I was looking for ways to capture what was going on in the city beyond the sorts of photos I had been seeing coming out from publications around the world…That’s when the animals started coming out, especially in places they had never been seen before. That’s when I put my wildlife photography skills to use in my own hometown concrete jungle. As our new normal is currently coming into effect and things begin to reopen, I am already feeling nostalgia for that brief moment in the history of our city when the animals ruled the streets.
