May 26th marks 74 days since we began isolating. The challenges ebb and flow, though the lack of physical and social connection has been felt the most by my 10-year-old daughter. Her typical weekday morning routine of running towards her friends in the schoolyard and toppling them over with hugs has been replaced with 6’ of emptiness and homeschooling. On weekday afternoons, we get out for a walk, bike ride…or social distanced visit. As needed as these excursions are, days that we see friends usually end in a rush of tears and sadness as she reflects on her day and the loneliness she feels.
