Suneel Khanna and Carl Wolter married in a socially distanced, same-sex Hindu-Angelican ceremony. The couple’s original wedding plans involved having family and friends fly in to attend their big day. COVID changed that and reworked their plans to have 10 guests in attendance. ‘I never thought gay marriage would be legal in my lifetime,’ Khanna told Toronto Life magazine. ‘On some level, this whole wedding felt like something else we had to fight for. The emotion from the ceremony wasn’t just about our two lives coming together – it was about our entire past and rite of passage into our future. It was an emotionally cathartic experience.’
